The 2011/12 adult social care survey

What is the survey?

The Department of Health ask councils to carry out a survey every year in order to measure service users' experiences and opinions on the services provided by Adult Social Care. This is called the Adult Social Care Survey.  It takes about 20 minutes to complete.

What is the survey for?

The survey results will be used by the Department of Health to understand how well social care services across the country are meeting their users' needs. The results will be used at a local level to improve service delivery and to monitor how well we are meeting the standards that we have set for ourselves. The survey will help us to understand how well our services help people to live independently, and whether there are better ways of delivering services.

When is the survey happening?

The questionnaires have been sent out over the past few months and all questionnaires have to be returned by Friday 18th May 2012. Questionnaires will be sent out to users of social care services selected at random. This will include people who are living in a care home or who are receiving a personal budget, have been supplied with equipment from us, are using meals on wheels or attend day centres.

Do I have to fill in the survey?

We really do want to hear your views.  However, you do not have to fill the survey in.  We may send you reminders if we do not receive your form back. To stop us sending you these reminders please just send the blank survey back to us in the envelope provided.
