Active Age Centres

There are Active Age Centres all over Barking and Dagenham. They are a great place to meet people and enjoy activities. Active Age Centres are run by the Council.

What is an Active Age Centre?

Our Active Age Centres offer older people the chance to try out lots of different activities and meet new people.  You need to join and become a member and there is a small "sub" payable every week.

You could try:

  • snooker
  • bowls
  • card games
  • tai chi
  • bingo
  • arts and crafts
  • darts
  • line dancing
  • keeping fit
  • coffee mornings.

Contact your local Active Age Centre or call the Adult Intake and Access Team for more information.

A list of daily events at the active age centres can be found here.
