Freedom Pass

A Freedom Pass is provided by the borough to give older and disabled Londoners free travel on almost all public transport in London.

London Councils

A permanent resident in Barking and Dagenham (non-residents will need to apply to the borough in which they permanently reside)


If you lose your pass or have it stolen you will need to contact us if you live in Barking and Dagenham on 020 8227 2334, 020 8227 2325 or 020 8227 2840.

 

In London

If you have a Freedom Pass, you can travel for free at any time in London, whether you use the bus, the tube, Docklands Light Railway, or Tramlink.

You can use your Freedom Pass on London Overground services and some national rail services at certain times from some stations in the borough. Click the button below to find out more.

Conditions of use for your Freedom Pass

 

English National Concessionary fares travel scheme

Your Freedom Pass means you can travel for free anywhere in England on local buses between 9.30am and 11.00pm Monday to Friday, and all day at weekends and on public holidays.

You will either need to show your Freedom Pass to the driver or place it on the card reader.

National Rail Services

You can travel for free from 9.30am on weekdays and at any time on weekends and public holidays on many national rail services in London.
